About BandTools

Built for musicians who want a direct line to their fans

BandTools exists for one simple reason: musicians deserve a straightforward way to email their fans.

Social platforms change. Algorithms shift. Reach disappears overnight. Your mailing list is the one audience you truly own.

Independently funded

GDPR-compliant

Email-first. No algorithms.

Why BandTools exists

I built BandTools because I needed it myself. As a musician, I wanted a clean, dependable way to run a mailing list without popups, ads, tracking scripts, or complicated marketing dashboards. A musician friend of mine faced the same problem.

The tools available were either overpriced, overcomplicated, or built for marketers rather than artists. So I built something better.

Designed around simplicity

BandTools does one thing well: it helps you email your fans.

  • No intrusive popups or dark patterns
  • No ad tracking or “growth” dashboards
  • Just a clean editor, a simple list, and tools that stay out of your way

Independent and sustainable

BandTools is independently funded. No venture capital. No advertisers. No growth-at-all-costs pressure.

We don’t track your fans. We don’t sell data. We don’t run ads in your newsletters. Your relationship with your audience stays private, and stays yours.

The business model is simple: you can use BandTools for free with sensible limits, or upgrade to a paid plan if you need more features.

About the founder

BandTools is built and maintained by John Topley in the United Kingdom. I design and develop the platform myself. I use it. I rely on it. And I care about making it something musicians can trust.

If you have feedback — good or bad — I’d genuinely love to hear it.
