About BandTools

I built BandTools for the very best of reasons: I wanted it for myself. I needed a way to run a mailing list for my musical project TIERGARTEN. I also had a musician friend facing the same problem. There used to be an excellent free offering in this sector, but it was retired with no migration path other than to pay over $200 a year to use the parent company’s entry level product.

I thought that my friend and I deserved better. I think that you deserve better.

The idea of BandTools is that eventually it will evolve into a suite of well-designed online tools for the independent musician. A place for artists to manage many of their online activities with the minimum of fuss.

Because I’m a BandTools user too, it doesn’t have any of those annoying features that make most websites today so terrible to use. There are no popups, popovers or banners that get in the way, immediately distracting you from what you came to do.

  • We don’t use cookies to track you for marketing purposes, so we don’t need a warning about them
  • There are no adverts. We don’t and never will sell your data (you can read our full Privacy Policy)
  • The business model is straightforward: you can use BandTools for free with some limitations and missing features, or you can pay a very reasonable monthly or annual fee to use the full service (read our full Terms of Service)

I really enjoy designing and developing BandTools. I hope you enjoy using it and find it useful. I’d love to know what you think, good or bad. You can contact me using the email address below.
