New in BandTools: Custom domains, Sign in with Google and more
Hi there!
2026 is off to a flying start with the announcement of two exciting major new features for BandTools.
Custom domains
If your BandTools plan includes the feature, you can now use custom domains when sending newsletters and for your public newsletter archive. Custom domains are a great way to achieve a more professional look and to help build your reputation and brand as an artist.
A new Domains tab in Settings is used to set up both newsletter sending and newsletter archive custom domains. You can set one or both up and once operational you can also easily turn them off and on again from this tab.
Here’s what it looks like:

Note that setting up custom domains for your BandTools account is an advanced feature that requires that you (or perhaps someone you know and trust) be comfortable with adding DNS records for the web hosting account for the domain that you own and wish to use.
BandTools provides the details for the required DNS records during custom domain set up and at any time afterwards:

Sign in with Google
The second major feature is that it’s now possible to sign in to BandTools using a Google account, rather than having to use a dedicated email address and password just for BandTools. To do so, use the new Continue with Google button when signing in:

Once you sign in with a Google account a new Linked accounts section on your Account page confirms which account you are using and offers the option to unlink that Google account from your BandTools account:

Clicking the Unlink Google account button takes you to a confirmation page with a full explanation:

Note that if you have a BandTools account that is not linked to a Google account, you can still link one at any time from the same Account page. Just click the Link Google account button and select the Google account you wish to use to sign in to BandTools in future:

Dark mode setting
For the night owls amongst you, a new dark mode setting has been added to the App tab of the Settings page:

As you might expect, turning this on will switch BandTools to the chosen mode after you click the Save settings button:

Note that if you have dark mode enabled globally in your operating system settings, but turned off in your BandTools settings, BandTools will still respect your preference and take on an altogether darker look.
We hope you like these new features. Happy sending!
